TerrorVision

Double your Vision, Double your fun!

Do you like genre films that have a thematic connection, thoughtfully paired for your viewing pleasure? If you answered “yes”, our new series, Double Vision, is for you!

This month: alarming alien frequencies!

We'll finish off the night with a film that explores what happens when extraterrestrial beings use the power of television against us!

The Putterman family (including Mary Woronov, Gerrit Graham, and Diane Franklin) are excited to install a state-of-the-art satellite dish in their backyard. Through a cosmic accident, a wayward monster's energy is beamed across galaxies, into the satellite and onto their television set. The Puttermans don't notice any changes, only better reception and a strange monster continually appearing on the screen.

But when that monster leaps off the screen and into the Puttermans' living room, terror erupts, as it needs to feed on humans for its survival!

Don't miss this hidden gem of '80s trash!

National Blueberry Pie Day – Stand by Me

Celebrate National Blueberry Pie Day with the Apollo and Sweet & Savoury Pie Company!

Come and watch everyone's favourite blueberry pie-eating scene in everyone's favourite movie about a group of friends on a mission to find a dead body while enjoying a blueberry tart from everyone's favourite bakery!

Based on Stephen King’s novella “The Body,” Rob Reiner’s shrewdly cast third feature upends the classic coming-of-age film by compressing time, and adding elements of the road-trip movie as the buddies (played by Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman, and Jerry O’Connell) go from boys to men literally overnight.

"Stand by Me" endures for the tender but unsentimental language it gives to the confusing adolescent feelings surrounding friendship, insecurities, and mortality.

Each ticket comes with a blueberry tart and the knowledge that you're about to have the best blueberry pie-based celebration of your life.

Clapback Queens: Miss Congeniality

Join Sasha Tease and her special guests for our Clapback Queens series. The queens will provide some fabulous drag performances, offer hilarious commentary on the film, and bring their shade expertise to rate the clapbacks of our favourite female protagonists. This month we’ve got Hollywood superstar Sandra Bullock in “Miss Congeniality”.

When a terrorist threatens to bomb the Miss United States pageant, do they call it off? Of course not! They send no-nonsense FBI agent Gracie Hart (Sandra Bullock) undercover as a beauty pageant contestant to solve the case. With her tough-as-nails attitude, Gracie will teach the pageant world a thing or two about being strong and fabulous — and she just might learn a thing or two about herself along the way too.

From wild costume changes to epic dance numbers, Miss Congeniality is the perfect blend of action, humour, and heart. So sit back, relax, and get ready to be entertained by one of the sassiest, most hilarious movies of all time!

Honey, honey, if you have a dream of being a dancing queen, then be a Super Trouper and Take a Chance on a fun night out at the Apollo!

After a bit of sleuthing, she sends letters to the three different men who she thinks could be the one (Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and Stellan Skarsgård), and they all return to the island and to Sophie’s mother, Donna (Meryl Streep), who enchanted them years ago.
