25th Anniversary screening! New 4K restoration supervised by David Lynch himself!
“Lost Highway” is a dreamlike journey through a murder mystery. Like dreams, the film’s narrative isn’t linear nor does it apply to the logic of reality. And that’s exactly why we love it.
Bill Pullman stars as Fred, a jazz saxophonist who’s convicted of murdering his wife (Patricia Arquette). Fred then inexplicably morphs into a young mechanic with a new life, one that nonetheless begins to tangle with Fred’s life in a darkly surreal web of intrigue. This pair of deeply chilling stories intersect to form one of David Lynch’s most underrated neo-noir masterpieces.
Although it received some negative criticism on its release, the film has since developed a strong cult following, a critical reappraisal and even been adapted into an opera. It’s also a film that definitely needs to be experienced on the big screen in order to fully immerse yourself in Lynch’s twisted world.
